Cassandra, Queen of the Mix

Notes

  • HOT n very very HUMID
  • Moldy hay taken away from US, their svc as insulator well past
  • Lunch break in sSIPPEE, C+C thoroughly soaked. Eat because know need the energy but neither hungry.
  • sSIPPEE is hotter than outside...better screening inhibiting the miniscule mostly nonexistant breezes? and no cupola/vent up top in this one. But at least is a place to be bug-free and not have to clean up (like in yurt).
  • Lots of carpenter ants. Grrr.
  • When so miserably humid n hot should Not bother heating shower water! Cass got overheated at night, after hot shower, after a long long day of being mega heated. Resort to opening dome + door a while, not great idea since noseeum netting not up yet.
  • So exhausted
  • Late Night Yoga session!

306.02 Test on safety: materials and tools

  • Cass safe for footing tools and materials except drainage pump hose

300.28 Shower arrangements on-site

  • Filled up new Reliance solar shower and set in sun
  • No, it doesn't work
  • Time: 0.25 hrs

Chris, Master of the Trowel

213.01 Footings

  • Chris footing tubes out shed and up
  • Cass chores and up to join in
  • Cass backfill forms and then mixing cement while Chris doing setups, filling tubes. Chris gets cement + water.
  • Ouch! Damn bugs! Nasty bites at Cass wrists where she hadn't hooked up gloves/bugshirt properly. Wish we could work w/o all the bug attire!
  • Decide to work late (finished a bit after 9pm), will mean other tasks postponed, but need to make progress w/footings!
  • did 10 w/ CM help
  • Chris clogs drainage pump on second use. Fortunately, pump fixes itself before Chris can attempt repairs.
  • time: 10.5 hrs
