  • finished sanding floor
  • got snow & wind kit up.

  • top & side cover install
  • snowing snowing wet wet
  • we used a rope with towels taped to it to "floss" clean the top cover and dry out between cover & insulation.
  • yurt is up...yippee!
  • time: 10:00 - 8:00
  • entry deck DEFINITELY needs a railing.

262.06 Plumbing 14' (interior and hookup)

  • Hooked up water supply to CW supply line. Got a stready but small flow. Put a valv on and closed. Opened later, mega-pressure. WooHoo!
  • A few hrs later, no flow. Disconnected supply line, still no flow. Suspect I created a siphon and drained reservoir. Not good.

  • Cassandra installed additional fins in two joist bays.

  • Cass weatherstripped thr gap between drip edge and platform
  • We put reflectix in two of four joist bays.

262.06 Plumbing 14' (interior and hookup)

  • Attempted to solder yesterday's work, but it is cold and snowing. Tried to work under platform, not sure Cass would be safe from expsures. No black marker to note orientation in pipes. Got one small assembly together but the other wasn't working. Pi

Notes:

  • Plowing: First attempt with new truck, went pretty well. Need to get plow fixed to angle both ways, and fix exhaust leak (cough cough)
  • Woodstove Install: cleaned creosote from pipe, put in a Tee, its not in right as the fittings are b:ckward, but it'll work for cleaning out.

262.06 Plumbing 14' (interior and hookup)

  • finished final cold water assembly, fried one SW ball valve. hope the other didn't cook too. Soldering sucks.
  • installed corner sink basin. well, mostly...two bolts are needed as on hand bolts were too short. we can use it and drain into a bucket for now. the maiden voyage, aka tooth brushing, was a success!
  • time: 4hrs

  • This is going to be challenging.
  • had to cut some sections into smaller pieces to get into place, around posts and existing braces/supports.
  • used three different saws, broke two saw blades (one of them broke twice) and swore a lot when cutting the round perimeter. a cordless Sawzall would have been the best tool for the job, methinks.
  • one half of the platform, excepting a cut to be done later, is complete.
  • time: 10:30-6:30

  • was going to watershield cut edges but watershield was freezing. Cass suggested taping over with foil tape. Will do that for now and watershield when completing water supply hookup next year

262.06 Plumbing 14' (interior and hookup)

  • soldered final CW supply assembly under platform. Sillcock was about an inch too close, had to loosen it and will need to put a spacer in. Didn't burn the floor ..woohoo.
  • Sink basin is done.

  • removed valve, but that didn't seem to be the problem. found that coupling between two sections of pipe is above ground, I'd thought it was farther into the trench. removed coupling. there was ice in the second pipe section. added a piece of insulat

  • more water in reservoir due to warm temps, but still no pipe flow. perhaps ice blockage? try pumping/siphon of some type.

  • sealed WC DWV cleanouts.

  • water...woohoo! pipe had ice in it. I used a drill pump to get some movement, primed the pipe a bit and removed ice as it floated out.
