Q}Spring sneaks Winter a kiss hot enough to melt...well, to melt the PA snow down to...oh, alright, 42F isn't "hot", but snow's down to 3ft.

Fri Mar 6, 2009 8:12 pm

Q}Zoom! From 0-60 in 2.8 seconds flat! (or... 20F-60F in 28hrs) Now back down to 36F. Now its Saturday. No... Friday! What a messed up week!

Sat Mar 28, 2009 8:36 pm

Q}Bubba's outback cousins now BELOW deck level (6",7"& 9")! New stovepipe helps. R-Moose parts considered for art. More progress on LoftFloor

Sat Mar 28, 2009 8:55 pm

Q} had Chris (me) avoided miscutting the loft floor would have had much more progress. D'oh!

Sun Mar 29, 2009 5:05 pm

Q}Off-kilter, phone-forgotten *2, rainy, COLD day. Electric wiring/Floor remark/Hatch mockup. Finally got groove on. Time for Chris to leave.

Mon Mar 30, 2009 3:04 pm

Q}Sure, below freezing's good for moderating melt/erosion. But SO MUCH on-hold due to lack of adequate temps. Feeling the freakin' pressure!

Tue Mar 31, 2009 8:14 pm

Q}Creosote Hell Continues, Horrid&Harmful. Caused AM delay, Nasty Now. Ditch MLA-US half dug. Snow moved for rest. Desk windows install done.

3/2/09 0 Notes 0 cnc have a very warm night. stupid stove. contrast: twas a bitter cold strong windy day. ouch ouch windburn skin/red and hurting fingers result in lots of dropping things while trying to work/toes and fingers not helped so much by the warmers. feet kind of ok for a while. snow didn't amount to lots even tho was snowing most all day long and blowing a lot. PA snowbank is 12F at 6pm when cass gets back to yurt and has to deal with nasty smoke stench and stoking/firewood chores with hurting fingers. grrrr.... afraid to even say ...could upswing be finally happening?
3/3/09 0 Notes 0 extremely windy, cold wind, painful. sunny, but didn't do anything for warmth. cass very very cold again, shaky/dexterity loss/ugggggghhhhhhhhh. cass isn't sure - kinda wants to say is finally "over" the dentist trip and all materials used in procedure. but...kinda nervous to say so. getting that cold takes while to recover from. ugh ugh ugh.
3/4/09 0 Notes 0 still windy, sunny but quite cold. cass stays up on deck for lunch chat w/chris, doesn't stay up at mla too long in afternoon due to cold, can't do PH yet because still no reply from helen... have to lv another msg. late on evening tasks due to getting wrapped up in tub stuff.
3/5/09 0 Notes 0 lots less wind. still quite cold. but able to be outside without getting overly cold, midday at least. lots of other problems today. helen finally calls back. no direct answer on moldiness of PH, but says cass is "not allergic" to anything in there. cnc .....frustrated. cass doesn't get reply in enough time to doing anything in PH today, reg thurs chores taking up time. cass also very bad off in AM, extremely shaky and fire big probs, screen door and reg door prob, phone a prob, sigh sigh sigh
3/6/09 0 Notes 0 cnc up late last night/early AM chatting, catching up. nice to have a fairly decent thurs eve arrival time for chris (10:30PM). "warm" temps woulda been nice earlier in week when was freezing and had time to do site work. geez! what is it with these warm fridays. tomorrow n sun hopefully nice. preps for the Jere's visit done. smells emitting from chock-full-o-goodies cooler in eve are delicious. ladybugs attack!!!! ack!
3/3/09 213.36 Site cleanup (general and for Cass safety) 1.75 3 vac batts used. lotsa stuff put away, scraps relocated/cut for burning, lotsa cleanup
3/5/09 213.36 Site cleanup (general and for Cass safety) 0.25 scraps and such
3/3/09 306.02 Test on safety: materials and tools 0.25 PH interior: hope so. felt cleaner but Helen to test and we'll see..... would be good so can do work there before weekend
3/4/09 306.05 List of tasks for week 0.25
3/2/09 310.96 Snow Removal ala Cass 1.5 crab sidle, new fangled low to ground tai chi shovel method, not sure what to call it but thanks to ups and downs, gravel frost heaving means mega jarring and only way to stop is to change angle, make shovel handle only like a foot-and-half off ground which mean stooping badly or crouching in squat position and rocking/moving along that way
3/3/09 310.96 Snow Removal ala Cass 1.25 park ave (turkey turds too, urgh!), a little bit by PH, deck
3/2/09 329.02 Construct walls and loft - 30' yurt: wallboards 2.5 Zwall boards up so far, had to find/mark/handcut one replacement because it was thinner than board below window and wouldve left a gap. marked next window cutout. finished fitting the alcove boards, tacking in spacers and screwing them in.
3/3/09 329.02 Construct walls and loft - 30' yurt: wallboards 0.75 marked for box around desk electrical outlet in cubby. started working on svc panel walls: template/tried finding pine but none large enough, gonna do 3 wallboards. was getting too cold n loss dexterity etc
3/4/09 329.02 Construct walls and loft - 30' yurt: wallboards 2.25 pc chris cut fingled and fit then installed. measured and marked 3 next boards. uninstalled Z board had called a starter when we thought walls would go other direction. svc panel pcs, pine for top and door? marked one for end.
3/2/09 329.16 Sitework Plans&Figuring 1 tub stuff. got measurements and gonna do a paper to layout and see if like rounded or squarish better

3/4/09 329.16 Sitework Plans&Figuring 2.5 tub and shower ring
3/5/09 329.16 Sitework Plans&Figuring 1.5 more on tub and shower ring. figuring out where kitchen cab left so could get paper templates for size worked out. also calcing wallboards for chris to buy an just lumpd that time here as wasn't sure where it went

3/15/09 288.08 Split and stack wood 1.25
3/9/09 0 Notes 0 "cnc have a very warm night, lv dome and window open as crashed exhausted, wake to very cold yurt and lots of icy precip late in night/early morn. Cass has not such a great day dealing with - everything. not worst ever for sure. but ""only""does shoveling of park ave drying out of clothes file mgmnt esp on stupid palm phone and pics and other non bldg tasks some of which r for thurs/fri. chris finds out that 6-8 weeks of soreness is ""normal"" for cass' cavity type. oh well...."
3/9/09 310.96 Snow Removal ala Cass 2.25 lots of "messy accumulation" for sure! At least 6"snowontop of whatever blended into soft mushy ground, had to break up shoveling and dry out clothes, blizzard like snowfall
3/7/09 0 Notes 0 Jere arrives but thinks better of getting up drive to where Chris instructed to park, he backs down to by bridge. J&C do the Poocham decontam and return with sealed/cut ply and insulation to unload. Cass had a very hot AM due to sudden "warmth" of temps and sun: 90+ in little yurt. felt veeerrrry nice to get outside finally after AM chores and packing everything and was up top on far side of deck so that guys could drive up and unload. sucked cass couldn't work w/them, but for best since had to cut ply and such. nice weather totally disappeared before lunch. cloudy n cool. rain held off til cass was doing eve chores. ccj had too long a dinner per schedule. but gave cass n jere little time to chat while chris went down and got the sleeping supplies.
3/8/09 0 Notes 0 Jere survives the night w cnc in the tiny yurt. prob good that weather was so "warm" so he didn't get too cold. snack break ran over bit today but even tho ATTSMA Jere did get to chat lil with the connie. cass makes a little "Its Monkeys!" gift for Connie. Jere leaves early eve after pomegranate root beers n snacks at door. cnc are sposd to plan and t/g next and its too late, end up w/modified schedule and ugh....ugh.... both so exhausted and cass feeling sick. but hooray for PH progress.
3/10/09 0 Notes 0 cass sleeps terribly in an overheated, nasty miserable hot yurt. wakes to very cold. ugh. very little sleep. gets up hr late. bad off during most of morning. ATTSMA means cnc take a half hr to even get call connected for lunch chat. cass talks w/health provider re problems w/the care being provided. sigh. prep for that took time. new vegan "deli slices" are kinda interesting. chris comes home for evening since doing local work this wk. grey and gross day.
3/10/09 310.96 Snow Removal ala Cass 2.5 mla's heavy wet snow removal done. very exerting
3/10/09 213.127 US: sand walls/floor/ceiling 1.5 yuck yuck yuck. new method cass derived (shirt over head, only looking out thru armhole) didn't work too well, face shield still fogged up, tried w/ mask also and still fogged up. ugh nasty nasty task
3/11/09 0 Notes 0 rain rain more rain. cass taskd with updating money and takes all day and not done. grrr for no site work ala cass. too many overwhelming probs also: palm totally deletes all tasks! ducking hell! the helen problem. chris work stuff. too many too many all sorts of things not going right, as in taking cnc's time for talking reviewing and not getting enough site hrs either.
3/12/09 0 Notes 0 strong strong wind again and cold. very cold morning. terrible sleeping. cass shaky and not good. sunny but no good that does. not enough cass tasks for week.
3/12/09 213.127 US: sand walls/floor/ceiling 2.5 no contraption seems to work. so what cass ends up with is bugscreening -ala chris' suggestion- wearing mask, "protecting" face a bit with paper towels. hood up. wrists got totally covered. fine dust in eyes and on face. ducking ducking hell. never again. worst time of ever. terrible terrible. told chris "i resign".
3/12/09 742.01 JaBoSTH: Non-Quackers 1 pic for chris for TV loft adaptation. measuring for aspen. looking at bagged tub info (maybe that was shaky culprit?). got bug screening hat and prepped for sanding.
3/13/09 0 Notes 0 cnc did tasks last night, woohoo, cass has work. fits in a bit and also fri tasks. cnc stay up late doing other things too. morning shortened by 1hr. chris get out -almost an hr early as planned....cnc did it again
