Solar hot water attempt
Notes
- Cloudy. Rained periodically. Afternoon storm. Kept raining all night.
- C+C don't get to talk! Tried for hours but signal wasn't there at all. Once, a call got thru but was dropped a minute later and many hrs later still no signal. :-( Sending out a telepathic message of love....
- Chris bought battery powered drainage pump at Lowe's in Houston
300.28 Shower arrangements onsite
- Even tho cloudy, setup a pan for hot water trial in case some sun while out working
- Is: metal pan w/clear plastic cover (ziploc taped onto) placed pan on pc of foil, but foil is more for keeping bottom of pan dirt/bug free than reflective quality.
- If works, can get better clear covers and setup larger pan too.
- Time: 0.25h
213.01 Footings
- dug two remaining holes
- one - either hit ledge or a huge rock requiring two people and lots of dig-out
- two - dug out bunch of roots. too near tree? If not, then need better tool for cutting bigger roots
- time: 0.75hr
Erosion control tasks:
- 303.11 Reroute water running into MLA behind 20': dug trench and built up bank. Done for now
- time: 0.5hr
- Started on building up the trench alongside MLA, but only got 5-10mins done before thunderstorm started and went down to woodshed
- In woodshed, dug diversion trench inside for runoff
- Put some stone along steps but was getting too soaked to continue
- time: 0.5hr
- 303.13 Finish Woody Way diversion ditches: getting too soaked to make much progress, but lowest trench ok for now. Might be able to seed this area and call done?
- time: 0.5hrs
- all erosion related time =1.5hrs
213.14.2 Woodshed : gravel on "floor"
- started shovelling/spreading stone
- will be easier once seeding supplies out
- time: 0.25hrs
